I live in a small seaside town in the UK with my husband and two cats.
I write character-driven romance about people learning how to let someone
else in, especially when asking for what they need doesn't come easily.
My books tend to focus on relationships where trust has to be built rather
than assumed. I'm drawn to the messy, complicated parts — the vulnerability,
the negotiation, the moments when two people choose each other on purpose.
Consensual BDSM and power exchange are often part of the dynamic, but they're
always in service of the characters and their emotional journey.
Away from writing, I spend far too much of my free time playing games.
I'm also very good at becoming completely absorbed in a new subject for a few
weeks, which usually means some version of it eventually finds its way into a story.
Most of the time, though, I'm at home with my husband, probably with one of
the cats occupying whichever chair I actually wanted to use.
